Facts about the image, Sunset Kushiro Shitsugan National Park
This image entitled Sunset Kushiro Shitsugan National Park has been created using the soft light of sunset shining on sea of seed bearing grass surrounding a small lake, attention is drawn to the lighter coloured grasses nearer the lake as the foreground grasses find themselves in the long shadow of some trees created as the sun sits low in the sky.
The golden glow is what photographers refer to as golden light found only in the first hour after sunrise and the last hour before sunset. Sunset Kushiro National Park reflects the beautiful jet subtle and tranquil scenery in the landscape of Kushiro Shitsugan National Park and underpins the reasons for which the Japanese gave this area National Park status. This image was created in autumn at a time when the trees on the Japanese island of Hokkaido had just started to take on their autumn colours. Kushiro Shitsugan National Park is located in the south eastern part of Hokkaido close to the port city of Kushiro, Hokkaido being the northernmost island in the Japanese archipelago is naturally the cooler part of Japan and sees signs of autumn ahead of the more southerly areas such as Honshu Island where Tokyo is located.
